Welcome to Bridging the Gap Bridging the Gap was originally developed as a training program for medical interpreters in the 1990s. Since then, the training has prepared thousands of committed interpreters. Today, medical interpreting has become a recognized profession. Health care providers appreciate that they can do a better and safer job of caring for patients when there is good language support and culture brokering available. For a description of our Bridging the Gap class and Training of Trainers class, click here. Bridging the Gap training schedule for 2008 Currently, we are accepting applications for open enrollment training scheduled for June 2008 in Seattle, WA. Additional trainings will be announced shortly.

Northwest Resource Center Receives OMH Grant
The Office of Minority Health, Region X, has awarded a grant to CCHCP's Resource Center to fund development of an outreach program for health and social services professionals working with minority and underserved populations.

CCHCP Executive Director, Ira SenGupta was the closing speaker for the American Heart Association’s ‘Painting the Future’ 2008 Health Strategies Leadership Summit in Dallas, Texas in March. She spoke on the topic of ‘The Role of Cultural Competency in Cardiovascular Health’ to over 100 members of the AHA’s leadership from all eight of its national affiliates.
